Pre-Competitive Program
The VPS Starjump Academy is a premier pre-competitive program designed for young dancers with the passion, drive, and dedication to take their training to the next level. This program serves as the essential bridge between our recreational classes and the VPS Competitive Dance Team.
Developed for students who have successfully completed our year-long programs or have been recommended for intensive training, the Academy focuses on building the technical foundation, discipline, and performance quality required for competitive-level dance.
At VPS, we believe in a structured progression that sets our dancers up for long-term success. Following a full year of training in the Starjump Academy, dedicated dancers will be invited to audition for our award-winning VPS Competitive Teams. This year of preparation ensures that dancers enter the competitive circuit with the strength, confidence, and technical precision necessary to excel at regional and out-of-town competitions.
Program Highlights:
Accelerated Growth: Starjump weekly combo classes explore multiple genres (Ballet, Jazz, Acro, Tap, and Hip Hop), providing the well-rounded training required of modern competitive dancers.
Performance Focus: Dancers participate in specialized choreography designed to showcase their emerging technical skills and stage presence.
Competitive Standards: We maintain a structured environment with professional dress codes and attendance policies to instill the discipline and work ethic seen on our senior teams.
