THE PROGRAM

Inspired by conservatory-style arts education, VPS Academy offers immersive, high-level training for passionate young performers in a supportive and creative environment. For dedicated students looking to grow artistically, creatively, and professionally. Located in the heart of Mount Pleasant, Vancouver Performing Stars' new 5,200-square-foot flagship facility is a fully accessible home designed for emerging youth talent. The state-of-the-art space features 2 rehearsal and dance studios equipped with professionally sprung floors, floor to ceiling mirrors, and natural light. It boasts an intimate 80-seat black box theatre with retractable seating, amplified sound, professional lighting, and a versatile stage that hosts internal productions and community events. This custom-built venue marks a milestone evolution for VPS, cementing its role as a premier cornerstone of Vancouver's youth arts culture.

• Industry-Focused Training to prepare students for auditions

Weekly Schedule & Commitment

The VPS Academy program requires a nine-month, full-year commitment from September to June. Upon acceptance, students and guardians must submit a signed commitment letter.

• Tuesdays &/Or Wednesdays (9:30 AM - 3:00 PM): Intensive training consisting of ensemble work, specialized classes, private lessons, and performance creation.

  Note: Accepted students will be assigned a specific Academy day, with the option to enroll for a second day by invitation only.

• Mondays (12:30 - 3:30 PM): An academic support day that integrates seamlessly with distributed learning programs such as VLN, SelfDesign, eBus, and others.

APPLICATION INFORMATION

In order to participate in the Academy Program, your child will need to receive permission from your school’s principal, homeschooled or enrolled in a blended Online Learning program. It’s important that you and your child’s educator, feel they are able to handle this training along with their school work. This is a nine month commitment and all guardians and students accepted into the program will be required to sign a commitment letter outlining the expectations prior to enrolment.

Upon application, students will receive a placement audition time and, if accepted, will be placed in the program we feel is best suited for your child’s growth.

TUITION

Once placed, a $200 deposit will be required to register and hold your place. The remainder of the program fees will need to be paid in full before the first day.

This program integrates seamlessly with TLA, VLN, SelfDesign, eBus, and other distributed learning programs for students.
